Helping Families Prepare for a Disaster

Health care professionals who provide education and support for women and families can help make sure these vunerable populations are well prepared in the event of a natural disaster. Find out if your place of employment has a disaster plan that meets the special needs of pregnant women and infants. To find out more about disaster plans, download the Six Key Elements for Every Disaster Plan from the March of Dimes.

The March of Dimes has also provided the following documents that can be downloaded, printed and distibuted to your familes. Encourage them to keep the brochures in an area of the house where they will be easy to find in the event they must leave quickly.

The March of Dimes North Carolina Preconception Health Campaign will update this website as well as the March of Dimes North Carolina Chapter website in the event of an emergency or natural disaster.
